Commissioning a painting
If you really like my work, but would love a painting of your own style, then I am very happy to work on a commission for you. I'm sure you have many questions so please do take a read to see how the process goes and the information I require in order to take the first steps. Key to the success of any project is ensuring that the art is an authentic reflection of your requirements and aspirations. During the brief stage I like to take the time to learn about your personal style, lifestyle and aspirations.I can work from photographs or visit the location depending on practicalities, to create a bespoke piece of art. Commissioned paintings make fantastic presents for special birthdays and anniversaries so please do get in touch if this is of interest.Prices start from £1200 depending on size and work method selected.Here is a step by step guide to the process:
Step 1 Preparation
Agree whether I am to visit the location or work from your photographs. The first thing to consider is the scale. What size artwork can your wall space take? Do you want to make maximum impact or something more understated? Maybe multiple original pieces may work hanging them side by side or one large scale piece? Discuss source material and agree style and composition of painting. Working with fabric swatches, paint samples or anything alike always help. Decisions need to be made on wether the artwork will framed or unframed. Once all this is agreed I will produce some ideas of the painting composition, along with a quotation.
Step 2 Create
Work starts on the painting and I will keep you involved in the process, whether by studio visits or e-mailing you photos and sending videos of the painting as it progresses. The aim is to keep you involved throughout the process so that there are no shocks along the way. By working in this way, you are part of the journey.
Step 3
Framing and Delivery
Once the painting is finished I can help you choose a framing style and delivery of painting.
